The ASSET test is administered by the American College Testing Corporation. It is used by 400 colleges in USA at present, typically community and technical colleges. Not like a lot of tests, there is no passing score on the ASSET test. It is a diagnostic tool, which assists colleges in identifying students' strengths and weaknesses, find the right program for them, and recognize areas they need help in. Students in general do not take the test until after they have been accepted for enrollment, though a number of schools require it previous to applying for particular programs.
