ghsgt_scoringAll students seeking a Georgia high school diploma must pass the Georgia High School Graduation Test. Georgia law requires that curriculum-based evaluations be administered in grade eleven for graduation purposes. The Georgia High School Graduation Test is administered four times a year.

The tests are used to identify students who may need additional instruction in academic content considered fundamental for a high school diploma. Georgia’s graduation tests give valuable information for students, educators, and parents about student strengths and areas for improvement.

In order to receive a diploma, all students in Georgia’s public schools must pass the language arts, mathematics, science, social studies and writing portions of the test, receive 22 Carnegie units in a chosen program of study, and meet attendance requirements.

According to state guidelines, students who have not passed one or more portions of this test have other opportunities to do so while in high school.

In order to pass the GHSGT you need the following scale scores all four content areas:

English Language Arts 500 538
