| User Testing | User tests are observational tests where a user or set of users are given tasks to perform using some software or product
validation testing Validation is the term for verifying that the HTML code in a file meets the DTD (Document Type Definition) for any particular version of HTML. This is important because if you miss a mistake your HTML code may not work in a different browser. • Unit tests - An automated exercise of code where the developer may create an artificial environment to automatically exercise a unit of code. • Regression tests - Running the same set of tests regularly or after known events. • Black Box tests - Testing based only upon the documentation of the unit without any knowledge of the implementation. • White Box tests - Tests based on knowledge of the internals of the unit. • Integration tests - Taking separate units of software that have already been tested and testing them together. • Bounds tests - Testing the outer ranges of values. Nulls, zeroes, blanks, etc. • Stress tests - Testing a system's ability to handle a desired system load, typically more than is expected. • System/Acceptance testing Making sure the software as a whole works as expected.
School tests.
Knowledge test. There are many exams that test your knowledge in different subjects in order to find your level of proficiency in certain disciplines, for instance: • A math test measures your ability to solve problems; • A history test finds your awareness with some historical facts; • An English test might ask you to show grammar and lexical skills.
Tests of aptitude. These tests do not check what you have learned at school, aptitude tests aim to measure how well you learn or understand things. For example, an aptitude test might show that you’re natural math genius and should be placed in an advanced class. It can also tell the teacher that somebody needs extra classes or so. An aptitude test might ask you to:
• solve problems that rely on your basic understanding of numbers and math. • render or retell the paragraph you have just read. • test your reasoning or ability to understand words and ideas.
Classroom tests. These are tests given by teachers to check what you have learned during the classes. They also determine your grade for the class.
Standardized tests. It means that the test takers answer all the same question, pass some concrete topic. These tests are usually identical for all students in a school district, county, state, or even the whole country. Government officials decide that there are certain facts or skills that every single student should know, and write a test that covers this material. For example, your state might feel that every student your age must know that World War II ended in 1945, or that the radius of a circle is equal to half the diameter. Because of this, these questions will probably appear on a standardized test, and your teacher will probably make sure to cover these things so you’re prepared.
