Writing and Learning Strategies
writing_learning_strategiesWhile studying in high school it is good to practice different writing strategies. While you are writing something down you are made to think about it to develop the thought. When you see your idea on paper, it probably will not seem as logical as you considered it to be. Written strategy allows you to realize your mistakes and improve them.

Consider new ideas while writing. Do not follow only initial thoughts, but try to add them and renew. You can try brainstorming, mapping and outlining. If any good thoughts come to your head but you do not need them at that moment, put them down, as they can be useful later. It was noticed, that the more person write, the more new ideas he/she generate.

Sometimes it is good to have a deadline. It is easier to finish the task with a clearly set deadline. A deadline gives you a chance to watch over the number of the words or pages done and make sure you are within the limits assigned.

Do not forget to edit and proofread your work. It is a good idea to write something and than to put it down for a few hours or even 1-2 days. Going back to it later gives you a different perspective and attitude toward the writing. Editing should not be monotonous. Checking may improve your paper to a large extend.

There are two main learning strategies. They are: problem based learning and thinking out loud. Both types are really effective and suits for different kinds of learners.

Thinking out loud gives you an opportunity to sound out your knowledge and your questions. It is a good way of mastering new knowledge. This method is very useful in memorizing poems and editing papers.
When your professor generates a problem for you and you are supposed to find the answer it is called problem based learning. You teacher acts like a mentor and inspirer. You have to explore the problem before you will be able to find any solving. While implying this learning strategy you will easily find out what you know and what you should learn. Write down the problem and think over any solutions for it. Choose the solution which you like more than others and explore it. When you find enough information to support first solution, start the next one.

Remember, that your school performance depends a lot on the learning and writing strategies you have chosen.
